Computer- and Control-system

Control-system
- The control-system is based on Sixtrak PLC:s and I/O-devices and have a capacity of 500 I/O channels. The system can be configured for arbitrary processes making it easy to set up new and complex experiments in the laboratory.

Computer facilities for scientific computations
- Linux cluster for high peformance parallell computing
- Ansys CFX CFD simulation tool for comprehensive modelling of complex fluid flows
- Access to the high performance computing resources at HPC2N at Umeå University.

- Black Liquor Gasification Demonstration Plant (DP-1) (owned by Chemrec AB) DP-1 is a fully instrumented pilot plant for about 1 % of the black liquor flow of an ordinary sized pulp mill. The total investment is 70 Mkr of which 20 Mkr is for the Control system.
